Types of FEL events
Knowledge sharing meetings
FEL participants are each endowed with their own background, experience and expertise. Knowledge Sharing meetings allow participants to share that knowledge with each other, or to broaden their own knowledge base. Topics tend to center around recent research or developments on the leadership front, new theories, or the real-life experiences of a leadership ‘practitioner’ (or an executive). Typically plenary-style meetings with expert speakers, these meetings also incorporate moderated Roundtable dialogues, a technique proven to allow a maximum level of participation and a deeper level of communication.
Attendance at Knowledge Sharing Meetings is free to Foundation Participants.
Cluster Meetings
Meetings devoted to the planning and progress of specific working groups or ‘Clusters’ are termed Cluster Meetings. Cluster meetings vary in content depending on the progress of the cluster and the size and needs of the group. They may include expert speakers, plenary dialogues, moderated roundtables, or may be planning sessions. The frequency and agenda of the meetings is determined by the Cluster participants.
Attendance at Cluster Meetings is free to Foundation Participants.
Annual Conference
Each year FEL, together with its sister organisation ELP, hosts a conference where corporate executives, leadership professionals and education institutes come together to learn new theories, hear (success) stories and share ideas on leadership topics. FEL Conferences offer a splendid mix of high-calibre speakers, meaningful content, the opportunity for personal reflection in a secure environment and good food in a unique yet intimate setting. Participation is open to FEL members and their clients and contacts. Past conferences have had such themes as:
2007 Leadership that Makes a Difference
2006 Generating Breakthrough Performance
2005 Leading Growth in Europe
2004 Leading in Europe; Exploring European Leadership.
For more information on our conferences, please visit our website: www.felconference.info
The cost of the Annual Conference for Participants is €500.
Participants’ Conference
A new event in 2008, the FEL Participants’ Conference will consist of FEL Participants as speakers who will be asked to showcase their diverse talents and theories. The audience will consist of young talent from large organisations, young CEO’s of smaller companies and possibly students of Leadership studies. The Conference will take place in Spring 2008. Experiences and learnings from the Participants’ Conference will feed directly into the Annual Conference which will takes place in the autumn.
Annual Participants’ Meeting
FEL is a foundation with participants which means that the strategy of FEL is decided by the participants themselves. At the Annual Participants’ Meeting we assess the ‘state of affairs’ of the Foundation and activities of the past year, and set the course for the following year(s). The progress and status of the individual Clusters are presented and ideas for new clusters are discussed. Topics for the Knowledge Sharing Meetings and the Annual Conference are put forward. If you want to be involved in setting the course for the future of FEL, this is the meeting to attend.
